When The Light Comes On
Scripture is full of truth to keep our heads above water as the Lord leads us through dark valleys to victory. At times, life events can have such a shattering effect that hope and restoration seem elusive. But we don’t have to go any further than the beginning of the Bible to find just what we need.
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
The earth was without form, and void;
and darkness was on the face of the deep.
And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.”
Genesis 1:1-2
For those in Christ, when our lives or hearts are shattered, or we seem to be in a winter season of futility, we know our God is hovering over it all. No human sees the whole picture, but God does. Ecclesiastes 3:11 says He has made all things beautiful in its time. So if you’re needing truth or hope it arrives in the next verse. Satan may think he’s prevailed to bring desolation in your ilfe, but our Lord will have him right where he wants him when the lights come on.
“Then God said, ‘Let there be light…’”
Genesis 1:3a
His timing is magnificent. Let’s not miss the wonder of what happened next,
“…and there was light.”
Genesis 1:3b
God is hovering over your circumstances to keep you in peace and to speak light that brings direction and hope, exposing darkness at the perfect time. Jesus is the light and He promises in Matthew 28:20 to be with us always. We won’t understand it all this side of eternity, but the One we can trust does. He has a plan. Whatever it is, God is greater.
