Abide in Him
Abide in Him, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that exists to strengthen the body of Christ through the teaching of God’s Word. Many precious souls are spiritually malnourished due to a lack of feeding in the life-giving Words of our Shepherd. We encourage God’s sheep to pasture in His Word verse by verse in order to be well fed, nourished, and ready for joyful service to our King. In a world where truth is rarely valued, our ministry provides a showcase for the pure light of truth in Scripture. Living as a Christian in this world without God’s Word, is like being a flopping fish out of water.
Our primary ministry is teaching the Bible in a verse-by-verse format. We provide Bible Studies to those who can afford them and to those who cannot. Among the studies now available are studies of 1 & 2 Timothy, Acts, Ezra and Nehemiah, Colossians, Esther, Jonah, Ephesians, Matthew, Ruth, Romans 8, and John 15. The Ephesians study is available in Spanish. We also have an Advent Devotion. More studies are in the process of being written and produced. Book sales are used to support the ministry.
We have provided retreats for getting away in God’s Word and fellowship. We provide studies, teaching, and retreats for those in prison, homeless shelters, and recovery centers.
Our ministry name comes from John 15 as a reminder and encouragement that we must focus first on our relationship with Christ in order to produce profitable fruit for our Father’s Kingdom. John 15:4 says, “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.” The Abide in Him i’s are dotted with snowflakes to keep us mindful of Proverbs 25:13, “Like the cold of snow in time of harvest Is a faithful messenger to those who send him, For he refreshes the soul of his masters.” That is an admonition to deliver His message just as He sent it. It is also great joy to see that in so doing, we can be a blessing to our Father.

Charlotte Travis, Author and President of Abide in Him
Many years ago the thought went through my mind, “The name of your ministry is Abide in Him.” I didn’t yet realize that God was calling me to a legal and official ministry. I heard it as direction and a warning. As long as I abide in Christ, the fruit He desires will be born to glorify Him. The minute I’m abiding in anything else, the fruit won’t be good for anyone. That’s true for all of us! From there this ministry and several Bible Studies have been born.
When Christ is center stage, it’s the best show on earth. I love teaching God’s Word verse-by-verse as He wrote it. In my free time, I enjoy nature, hiking, spending time with friends, and traveling with my kids. I’m especially blessed, because my daughters, son-in-laws, and grandchildren are among my favorite people on earth.
