We All Need Jesus
We wouldn’t go to the post office for help with an illness, and we wouldn’t try to mail a letter at our doctor’s office. We need to know where to go for the help we need. And this sets the stage for the fact that we all need Jesus.
When Jesus’ fame began to go out, people started bringing Him things. Not what you might expect for the honoring of a King; the Ruler of all Nations; the Light of the World; the Prince of Peace. The multitudes started bringing Him people.
These weren’t necessarily the best looking or most notable people. They brought Him those who had great need. So what did Jesus do? Did He turn in disgust or demand better company? Of course not. He did what He does. He ministered to them. He didn’t leave them as they were.
Don’t let anyone or anything keep you from Jesus. Don’t wait until you have it all together, because that doesn’t happen this side of eternity. He came to set us free from sin, and restore us to right relationship with the Father. He came to deliver joy and purpose. There’s not a soul that will ever exist that does not need Jesus.
Come to Him for salvation and abide there for the sweetest relationship you will ever know. Bring Him your praise and rejoice with Him. Bring Him your hurts and problems and grieve in His presence. Praising Him keeps us in truth, and bringing our requests gives Him opportunity to reveal who He is to the world.
“Offer to God thanksgiving,
And pay your vows to the Most High.
Call upon Me in the day of trouble;
I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”
Psalm 50:14-15
