God With Us!
for December 19-21, 2025
God wants to be with us! But as we’ve seen, we are sinners and He cannot dwell with evil. So Jesus took the burden, was born, suffered and died to make the only way for us to be with Him.
“‘Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
and they shall call his name Immanuel’
(which means, God with us).”
Matthew 1:23
We looked at how God dwells with the humble, not the prideful. Let’s look at a personal example of this. Moses is described in Numbers 12:3 (NKJV) like this,
“Now the man Moses was very humble,
more than all men who were on the face of the earth.”
If we really desire to walk with God; to be used of God, then there we go.
Life had gone sideways for Moses by the time he got his major assignment from God. And from the burning bush in Exodus 3:12a he heard,
“But I will be with you…”
I love reading what the Holy Spirit writes about God through Moses. He loved God and it showed. Exodus 33:11 tells us that God spoke to Moses as a man speaks to his friend. In Exodus 33:15 Moses said to God,
“If your presence will not go with me, do not bring us up from here.”
Do we love God’s presence more than anything? Lord, may it be! Lord, as Moses said in Exodus 33:18,
“Please show me your glory.”
