God With Us!
for December 22-23
During this Advent Season, we rejoice that God wants to be with us and made a way! There is no better news. We’ve seen examples of people who walked with God as seen in Scripture. Moses was one of them. He then mentored Joshua who God raised up to lead His people after Moses. Listen to this public commissioning in Deuteronomy 31:7-8,
“Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him
in the sight of all Israel,
‘Be strong and courageous,
for you shall go with this people into the land
that the LORD has sworn to their fathers to give them,
and you shall put them in possession of it.
It is the LORD who goes before you.
He will be with you;
he will not leave you or forsake you.
Do not fear or be dismayed.’”
The best and most important news we can hear is that God is with us. Nothing is impossible with Him. He will complete in us what He desires to accomplish through our lives. Joshua could rest in that as he received this charge, and so can we.
After Moses was gone, God Himself said to Joshua,
"No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life.
Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you.
I will not leave you or forsake you.”
Joshua 1:5
And because of Jesus, those words can be true of us. Lord, may we take full advantage to accomplish our Kingdom assignments with joy and zeal, because You are with us.
“‘Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
and they shall call his name Immanuel’
(which means, God with us).”
Matthew 1:23
