The Power of His Majesty

Psalm 93:1 says,

“The LORD reigns; he is robed in majesty;

the LORD is robed; he has put on strength as his belt.

Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved.”

We can’t see God, but He opens our spiritual eyes through His Word, by His Spirit, and through His very creation. We see His strength, majesty, brilliance, wisdom, creativity, and awesome glory. It thrills us then to be reminded by Psalm 67:4,

“Let the nations be glad and sing for joy,

for you judge the peoples with equity

and guide the nations upon earth. Selah"

His majesty judging and governing! I can’t wait.

Years ago, I had a tree in my backyard that was wide at the base, and stood high above the other trees. It never failed to proclaim the majesty and greatness of its Maker. And I’ll tell you this, when the wind blew hard, I prayed that if it ever went down, it would fall away from the house.

That provides an important spiritual reminder in regard to the majesty, power, governing, and judging of God. Jesus is the Tree of Life. We want Him standing over us, not coming at us. All who receive Him find grace, sustenance, and satisfaction in those leaves that never wither and that fruit that never fails. But those who insist on allying with evil need to know, He will crush opposition to His Kingdom and Isaiah 2:10 applies,

“Enter into the rock

and hide in the dust

from before the terror of the LORD,

and from the splendor of his majesty.”

But for those established by the Tree of Life, we rejoice to say,

“Gird your sword on your thigh, O mighty one,

in your splendor and majesty!”
Psalm 45:3
