Our Front and Rear Guard

Nature just preaches the wonder of our Creator! I love the visuals we get from this Canadian Goose couple as they teach, protect, care for, and relate to their young. The parents taking a surrounding position – the front and last place in line – help us understand what God does for us.

God created us, loves us, wants us with Him, and learning from Him. Imagine if these little goslings kept trying to wander from this safe formation. Yet I know that has been me when I’ve been distracted by the cares of the world, rather than enjoying the comfort and company of my Savior. He’s training us to rest in His care. Lord, thank You for Your patience and for keeping us in line for our good and Your glory.

Meditate on this verse today. We have so much to be thankful for. What an amazing thing that we are invited to walk obediently and humbly with the Lord.

“For you shall not go out in haste,

and you shall not go in flight,

for the LORD will go before you,

and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.”

Isaiah 52:12
