He Will Be Great: Devotions for Advent
“He will be great.” These are words given to Mary by the angel Gabriel concerning the Child she would deliver. He is Jesus, the Son of God, born to save us. These devotions will use Scripture to remind us that Jesus was, is, and will be great. This book provides daily readings during this season regarding the birth of Jesus at His first advent. We will break a bit from tradition to also consider His second advent, because our King is coming again. Each devotion will provide the option to journal if you would like, but most importantly opportunity to meditate on and worship the One who is worthy to be adored. There is none like Him. He Came! Daily Devotions For Advent
He came! The title says it all. When mankind was lost in the darkness of sin, God already had a rescue plan in place. He would send His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross to pay for our sins. Matthew 1:21 says, “And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” And so He did. Advent means coming or arrival. The King of kings humbled himself and left the throne of glory to be born in the flesh through Mary. He rolled away our shame by becoming the sacrifice for our sins to reconcile us to God. Now salvation and purposeful living are available to all who believe and receive Him. There is no greater love.
This devotional provides Scripture and teaching for each day of Advent leading up to the day we celebrate the birth of Christ. It provides opportunity for prayer, meditation on God’s Word, and journaling to help us focus on the One we celebrate. The One who came is coming again! And we shall behold Him. Merry Christmas!
