Eternally Cleansed And Covered
Oh, that we would pay attention to what God is offering. Isaiah 1:18 begins with,
"Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD…”
If God is calling us to come and reason, we want to take full advantage and hear what He has to say! This verse continues,
“…though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool.”
There’s something beautiful and stilling about a snow covered scene. God uses it to help us understand how He cleanses us from sin through the blood of Jesus. When we repent, He blots it out as if it never happened. As if it never happened! There may still be consequences, but He will even use those if we’ll let Him. Snow covers, and so does His blood.
When Jesus was transfigured on a mountain in front of some of His disciples, they described His clothes as white as snow. When we are saved, He covers us so that we can be described like Him, and like those in Revelation 7:14b who have, “…washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” Jesus. There’s nothing like Him.
Wool takes our minds to sheep, and Jesus is the ultimate Passover Lamb. His blood applied through salvation cleanses us from sin and protects us from the wrath of God. If you’ve received Him as Savior, just picture your glorious King putting that robe of righteousness on your forgiven shoulders. He has got you covered. Sink into the wonder of His love today and take full advantage of your freedom, so that others might come to know Him too.
