Chosen Out

"If you were of the world,

the world would love you as its own;

but because you are not of the world,

but I chose you out of the world,

therefore the world hates you.”

John 15:19

Remaining in the flow of the world’s ways is like floating down a lazy river. It’s easier. It can provide temporary pleasure; pats on the back; inclusion; assurance that you are a “beautiful” person who won’t call sin, sin. What Satan does not want us to know is this lazy river is heading for a cliff.

Those who are chosen out by the blood of Christ are saved from destruction. Christ’s rescue gives entrance to God’s true beauty and wonderful ways that bring refreshment, joy, eternal life, and glory to the One who deserves it.

The world loves its own. We were all floating in it until we came to Christ. We have exchanged worldly allegiance for allegiance to God. That does not go over well with the one who rules here. (See 2 Corinthians 4:4.) Satan does not want you to wake up and get out of the flow.

How many does our Savior want going over the cliff?  He is, “…not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9b

What a loving, magnificent King who suffered and died to save us. Thank you, Lord, for choosing us out and equipping us to live humbly in Your Spirit that is powerful enough to go mightily against the flow to bring rescue, life, true love, and true beauty. Help us to live like You, not so that others notice us who cannot save, but that they might notice You, the Savior of the world.
