Beautiful Simplicity

I love the simplicity of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. God warns that He will one day bring a glorious new beginning by pouring out His wrath on sin and evil. He lets us know how we can separate from it before it happens. The world brings confusion to something so simple, by calling evil good, and good evil. (Isaiah 5:20) But God makes it clear. When Jesus began His earthly ministry He came out of the gate confirming the Scriptures – telling us what we needed to know, and what we needed to do. Just breathe in the clarity of this good news that the world hates so much,

“Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee,

preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying,

‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand.

Repent, and believe in the gospel.'”

Mark 1:14-15

Repent and believe.

Repent: It’s time to turn from the weight, intoxication, and futility of worldly wisdom. It’s time to change the direction of our minds to agree with God’s and receive His offer of forgiveness.

Believe: It’s time to believe that what God says is true. We can’t save ourselves; only Christ’s death on the cross could pay that price. Believing that Christ took our sins, and gave us His righteousness keeps us humble, thankful, and in love with Him.

He alone is our Hope and that is good news! Lord, please open our eyes to see that; to believe and receive such a precious free gift.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith.

And this is not your own doing;

it is the gift of God,

not a result of works,

so that no one may boast.”

Ephesians 2:8-9
