Keep Him Flowing
I had a pen stop working, then start again, then stop. It became so frustrating, I had to get another pen. I thought of the times I’ve been inconsistent in my walk with the Lord. I’m thankful He is patient with me, but He deserves consistency and faithfulness like no one else does. I don’t want Him to have to use someone else, because of my grievous inconsistency. God uses faithful people.
The stopping and starting reminded me of something I heard years ago. A light bulb that blinks on and off is annoying. So it is with a believer whose walk with the Lord is inconsistent. Rather than being a blessing as we shine Christ’s continuous light, we’re simply an aggravation.
So let’s love God most! Let’s be daily in His Word to hear Him, and continue humbly with joy in prayer and obedience, so that His love flows through us.
Psalm 68:19 says,
“Blessed be the Lord,
who daily bears us up;
God is our salvation. Selah”
Daily!
One day at a time in HIs grace we can live 1 Corinthians 15:58,
“Therefore, my beloved brothers,
be steadfast, immovable,
always abounding in the work of the Lord,
knowing that in the Lord
your labor is not in vain.”
The frustration with the pen came because its very function was to let the ink flow. Our function is to allow the Holy Spirit to flow through us. Lord, make us faithful vessels!
