Safely Home And Fully Known

There is something about right relationship that resonates and gives us joy. We get that from our heavenly Father. The Son of God left the throne room of heaven to come and die, so that we who had rebelled could have right relationship with God through Christ’s blood to live with Him for all eternity. I love the old viral video of Christian the lion. It provides a faint picture of how it will be when those redeemed pass through death and enter eternity.

1 Corinthians 2:9 says,

“But, as it is written,

‘What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,

nor the heart of man imagined,

what God has prepared for those who love him – ’”

Whatever wonder or joy we imagine heaven will be, it will be more wondrous and more joyful.  But of all the wonder of heaven, nothing will top the face to face presence of our King.

I pictured the lion in the video embracing those men as our Lion of Judah not only recognizing us as His, but heartily embracing us in welcome as we arrive at our eternal home because of His sacrifice. The lion in the video was taken care of by these men. But as you watch it, imagine that the men were rescued and taken care of by the lion. That would be a more accurate picture of our seeing Jesus for the first time when we arrive in the safety and joy of heaven. Oh, we have so much to look forward to! Lord, make us faithful to the end. You are worthy.

“For now we see in a mirror dimly,

but then face to face.

Now I know in part;

then I shall know fully,

even as I have been fully known.”
