Powerful and Mighty Working

So often, we think work behind the scenes isn’t being done, because we can’t see it. So picture God on His throne. If we imagine Him watching, but not doing, we are wrong. He is watching and actively working in the world today. Actively and powerfully working. Our lives should reflect that. Once we enter the door of salvation, there is work to be done, treasure to be found, and relationship in which to grow! 

From Proverbs 2:6-8, let’s list just a few things God does for us. Under each, in italics, will be things we can do as our active part. We want to be sure we’re doing these things, so we don’t wake up to realize we are busy beavers who are spiritually lazy.

He gives wisdom.
Let’s believe it and ask for it.

From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
Let’s seek it from His Word like treasure, because there is no treasure like it.

He stores up sound wisdom for the upright.
Let’s remain always at the storehouse of His Word and prayer to use that wisdom.

He is a shield to those who walk in integrity.

Let’s remain aligned with and strengthened in Him, so that His footsteps are our pathway and we remain in His spiritual protection.

He guards the paths of justice.
Let’s do justly.

He watches over the way of His saints.
Let’s remain in thanksgiving and recognition of that, as we stay in His ways.

These are just a few examples of what our God is up to. Lord, I pray that Your wonder working power will be evidenced in our lives.
