Lessons from Jeremiah 18: Run To Hear!

Look at this invitation in Jeremiah 18:2,

‘Arise, and go down to the potter’s house,

and there I will let you hear my words.”

God.  Letting us hear His words! He doesn’t have to speak to us. What incredible grace that He does! If God told us to go to a certain spot and there we would hear His words, we would be tripping over ourselves to get there. As believers today, we know where to go to hear Him: the Scriptures. Yet we’re often distracted from the wonder, and don’t trip over ourselves to get there.

Today we’ll meditate on a few Scriptures asking the Lord to whet our appetite, so that we will crave and find satisfaction in the wonder of His Word. Enjoy!

For the word of God is living and active,

sharper than any two-edged sword,

piercing to the division of soul and of spirit,

of joints and of marrow,

and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

Hebrews 4:12

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching,

for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,

that the man of God may be complete,

equipped for every good work.”

2 Timothy 3:16-17

“Your words were found, and I ate them,

and your words became to me a joy

and the delight of my heart,

for I am called by your name,

O LORD, God of hosts.”

Jeremiah 15:16

"The words of the LORD are pure words,

like silver refined in a furnace on the ground,

purified seven times.”

Psalm 12:6

“Your commandment makes me wiser than my enemies,

for it is ever with me.”

Psalm 119:98

“Open my eyes, that I may behold

wondrous things out of your law.”

Psalm 119:18
