Know Where You’re Headed

Years ago, I was in Dallas helping my daughter find a place to live. Using free time to mess with Texas, we plugged in the Cowboys Stadium and headed out. Arriving at our destination revealed that we had made it to the Coppell High School Cowboys Stadium. It was worth the laugh, and we eventually made it to the Dallas Cowboys stadium. I thought it was a great spiritual analogy.

We want to be sure, spiritually speaking, that we are following directions that take us to the correct destination. We often hear that there are many ways to get to God. Can you imagine the disappointment when those who fall for Satan’s lies realize they were going in a certain direction, but it was not heading them toward the genuine treasure of eternal life with God?

Let’s check our directions. When my daughter and I made sure our directions included the name Arlington, we were confident we would arrive at our intended destination. We can be confident we will land at our desired eternal destination by no other name than Jesus Christ. In John 14:6, Jesus said,

“I am the way, the truth, and the life.

No one comes to the Father

except through Me.”

How simple! I am so thankful there is one way to the ultimate treasure of being eternally with God in His Kingdom. We can have the security ahead of time to know we will arrive in all that God has promised for those who come to Him through Christ.
