Just Look At Him
What we focus on matters, and affects us in a powerful way. Focusing on Jesus can lift our spirits, provide direction, and have us standing amazed that we know Him. While we learn about Jesus from Genesis to Revelation, let’s just gaze at Him through the description of love in 1 Corinthians 13 and a description of Him in Hebrews 1. He is the only human who walked this earth and remained in the fullness of love. He is love, so there is no other way for Him.
“Love is patient and kind;
love does not envy or boast;
it is not arrogant or rude.
It does not insist on its own way;
it is not irritable or resentful;
it does not rejoice at wrongdoing,
but rejoices with the truth.
Love bears all things,
believes all things,
hopes all things,
endures all things.
Love never ends.”
1 Corinthians 13:4-8a
These attributes only flow through us as we allow His Spirit to flow through us. 1 Corinthians 16:14 says,
“Let all that you do be done in love.”
His true love.
Only He can do that through us.
Just look at Him through the window of Hebrews 1:1-3:
“Long ago,
at many times and in many ways,
God spoke to our fathers by the prophets,
but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son,
whom he appointed the heir of all things,
through whom also he created the world.
He is the radiance of the glory of God
and the exact imprint of his nature,
and he upholds the universe by the word of his power.
After making purification for sins,
he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high…”
Be Thou my vision!
