It’s All Going To Matter

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good,

for those who are called according to his purpose.”

Romans 8:28

A few years ago, I sensed that circumstances in a particular trial would get harder before they got better, and they did. Yet this phrase kept running through my mind,

“It’s all going to matter.”

We need to know that there is purpose in what God allows in our lives. Just as each hard or harsh thing comes and threatens to sink us, we need to remember that it’s all going to matter; there’s some reason this needs to happen or this needs to unfold this way. It’s part of the plan, otherwise God would not allow it. It gives me the comfort and peace I need.

God is fruitful, not futile. He’s kind, not cruel. So much of what is going on in the world is NOT of Him. For God’s children who love Him and are called according to His purpose, whatever He allows in their lives is going to matter. Oh, y’all. It’s really going to matter.

“He has made everything beautiful in its time.”
Ecclesiastes 3:11a

The One who knows the beauty of the final page, walks through the story to grieve with us, to comfort us, and to be with us. We may not like the pages of our story right now, but every bit of it will matter, because by God’s grace we’ve submitted to the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ who makes us children and servants of the living God. Keep your eyes on Him as the story unfolds for our good and His glory.
