God With Us!

With time spent recently in Genesis 1-3, I’m amazed at God’s love, mercy, and grace. Even after His perfect order was destroyed by sin, He set in motion the rescue plan to provide a way for the rebels to be made right, and dwell with Him in righteousness forever. (Those rebels, that is, who believe Him, trust in, and receive His way of salvation.)

In this season of Advent, we contemplate the wonder of Christ’s first coming – the Son of God born as a human to be the sacrifice for our sins. This year, please join me in meditating on the wonder that God made a way for us to be with Him, and He with us. For the first two days of December, let’s ruminate on the words of the angel of the Lord as he gave much needed information to Joseph,

“‘Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,

and they shall call his name Immanuel’

(which means, God with us).”

Matthew 1:23
