God Speaks Blessing

“And God blessed them, saying,

‘Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas,

and let birds multiply on the earth.’”

Genesis 1:22

God’s will is abundant life – fruitfulness, multiplication, and filling. Not as the world defines abundant living. That view involves things that are temporary, can be lost or stolen, and can disappoint.

But God’s children are called to participate in fruitful, multiplying, and fulfilling eternal Kingdom work. Through Jospeh’s suffering, God bore fruit, multiplied, and filled even physical needs in the nation of Egypt to continue His eternal rescue plan. He did the same through Corrie Ten Boom when she was taken to a concentration camp in Nazi Germany for hiding Jews. He is not hindered by our circumstances, but uses them. He can use us wherever we are; in whatever we’re going through. We get to participate in spiritually abundant living for eternal Kingdom purposes through obedience. We are blessed in Christ with things that can’t be bought.

In this New Year, enjoy some time with Him as we hear Him speak blessing over His own through Ephesians 1:3-6,

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,

even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world,

that we should be holy and blameless before him.

In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ,

according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace,

with which he has blessed us in the Beloved.”

Lord prosper Your children to fulfill Your purposes in this New Year! Prepare us for what’s ahead, keeping our eyes on You.
