Flood Warning!
Flood warnings can save lives and alert people to batten down the hatches. The Lord has warned us of a dangerous spiritual flood, and I believe the waters are rising.
By Genesis 6, God sent a flood of water to cleanse the earth and keep His kingdom plan of redemption on track. Genesis 6:8 says, “But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.” Not only was Noah warned about the coming flood, he was given specific instruction on how to remain victorious over the prevailing waters. And so are we.
The coming flood is not of water. Revelation 12:15 says,
“The serpent poured water like a river
out of his mouth after the woman,
to sweep her away with a flood.”
We know what flows from Satan’s mouth: deception. Like a rip tide, dabbling in his lies can cause one to be snagged and dragged away into delusion.
We see even those who claim to be Christian making worldly proclamations that are at odds with God’s holy and saving Word. We must be humble and intentional about rejoicing in the truth of the Bible. We have found grace in the eyes of the Lord through Christ; told about the coming flood; and received specific instruction on how to remain victorious. To abide in Christ means to remain in truth. The assignment of the church in 1 Timothy 3:15 is to be a pillar and buttress of the truth.
“The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan
with all power and false signs and wonders,
and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing,
because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.
Therefore God sends them a strong delusion…”
