DEVOTION
Recently my eyes fell on Nehemiah 7:4 (KJV),
“Now the city was large and great:
but the people were few therein,
and the houses were not builded.”
It made me think of Luke 10:2 (ESV),
“And he said to them,
‘The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.
Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest
to send out laborers into his harvest.’"
Something is terribly wrong when a great city is not well attended. How much more the harvest and very city of God!
“And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem,
coming down from God out of heaven,
prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.”
Revelation 21:2
Lord, revive our hearts to the wonder of You and Your Kingdom! Don’t let us get sluggish in the dredges of sin, discouragement, man-made religion, self, or the world. Cause us to be focused on Your great city, obediently participating in its building with joy. Please send out laborers into your plentiful harvest and like Isaiah stir our hearts to say,
“Here I am! Send me.”

UPDATES AND ON THE HORIZON
Though a sabbatical year through February 23rd of 2026, it has not been slow. The Lord has continued to strengthen the sheep through His Word. One of my classes includes women in recovery, and it is so faith-building to see how God moves in all of our lives bringing peace and life where it looked impossible.
I try to work with “produce” from the former years during a sabbatical, so I was able to reformat the Colossians study (which is one of the first written) before we did a reprint. I’ve been using spiritual analogy blogs from the past to repost on the website. I also used previous creation devotions for class this year. Doing a slow and deep dive into Genesis 1-3 has been life changing. Lord willing, we will publish the creation devotion along with the companion study in 2026. I’m excited!
I continue to thrill over every book order - whether individuals or groups diving verse-by-verse into the treasure chest of God’s Word. It’s always such a blessing to glean from others by kicking off an Abide in Him study, receiving letters and emails, or talking with those using them.
Because of generous donors, we continue to send studies into prisons and recovery centers. As discussions regarding what the Lord may have ahead continue with the Board and Prayer Team, I’ll share as things develop.
