Propelled By His Promises
I was grateful to have my sister fly in a few years ago to help with a hard season. On the way home from dropping her at the airport, I was stopped at a traffic light. A road sign caught my attention, because the light was shining in such a way to make a rainbow on it. Spotting a rainbow is not only beautiful, but it’s a symbol reminding us that God remembers and keeps His promises.
When I looked to see what the road sign said I read, “Keep Moving Forward.”
What a wonderful visual! The reason a believer in Christ can keep moving forward even in the hardest of times, is because God keeps His promises. A promise I kept running through my mind during that season is found in Isaiah 41:10. I can keep moving forward, which also means resting in Him, because it says,
“…fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Our Lord is using our very trials to strengthen us. We don’t have to be afraid or dismayed, because He’s with us in them. He’s with us. To be upheld by His righteous right hand is to be upheld indeed.
