In Christ Alone

Don’t mistake God’s patience for indifference. He’s watching over His Word to perform it. Isaiah 2:17-18 says,

“And the haughtiness of man shall be humbled,

and the lofty pride of men shall be brought low,

and the LORD alone will be exalted in that day.

And the idols shall utterly pass away.”

Who will be exalted? The Lord. Through Christ He can be exalted in our lives today. Those things we exalt above God, including self, have no future.

Christ’s return will be wondrous for those who receive His salvation. But for those who insist on the pride of their own way, Isaiah 2:19 -21 says,

“And people shall enter the caves of the rocks

and the holes of the ground,

from before the terror of the LORD,

and from the splendor of his majesty,

when he rises to terrify the earth.

In that day mankind will cast away

their idols of silver and their idols of gold,

which they made for themselves to worship,

to the moles and to the bats,

to enter the caverns of the rocks

and the clefts of the cliffs,

from before the terror of the LORD,

and from the splendor of his majesty,

when he rises to terrify the earth.”

Glory.

Adam and Eve knew about this when pure fellowship was lost and they hid in the Garden. So,

“Stop regarding man

in whose nostrils is breath,

for of what account is he?”

Isaiah 2:22

The world is seeking self-esteem and glorifying humans; the Lord reveals that apart from Him, we are not all that. Christ is our shield and in Him we have found our worth. We were created to glorify God. In that is joy, security, and purpose. No more hiding. Bless You, Lord!
