His Great Name

I have much growing to do in my prayer life, and I’ve asked Him to help me. Only Him! Something merciful happened this morning. You know when you’re with friends and someone says, “Can we just talk about…” whatever it is: something you have in common, a show you all watch, sports, current events, etc. I found myself in prayer saying, “Can we just talk about Your Name?” That had to be inspired of Him, and let me tell you, God loves God! He loves to proclaim the honor of His great name and wants us to love and appreciate it too. Honoring and meditating on His Name, learning about His nature through the unfolding of His Names in Scripture blesses Him. The only place salvation is found is in His Name. He has given Jesus the name above all names. If you want to engage with the Most High, mention His favorite subjects. It will always be what is best for us - more glorious than we deserve. Oh, how He loves us!

Later, I looked at social media and one of my favorites to follow is Benjamin Watson. I don’t know him personally, but he is a brother in Christ. This is what popped up on my feed:

Can we just talk about His Name? It is a safe place!

We will not exhaust the wonder of His Name this side of eternity. The thought of discussing it with Him when we are there face to face makes me want to fall on mine. May Isaiah 26:8 be true of us,

“Yes, in the way of Your judgments,
O LORD, we have waited for You;
The desire of our soul is for Your name
And for the remembrance of You.”

Here’s to hoping that there is someone in your life that you can say, “Can we just talk about His Name?” And they are all in. Only Him.
