Eternal Things Remain

In our previous post, we looked at hard things that may not change this side of eternity. We saw that God is always working and using it all for our good and His glory. But hard circumstances can only remain, as we said, this side of eternity. That makes them temporary. As believers we can know the pain of these things will one day be replaced with joy unspeakable, even if it’s not until heaven.

Today, we’ll highlight things that remain, not just this side of eternity, but forever!

“The eternal God is your dwelling place,

and underneath are the everlasting arms.”

Deuteronomy 33:27

Our God is eternal, remaining forever. Because of Christ, our dwelling with Him and being held by Him will remain.

“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life.”

John 6:47

Because of Christ, our very true living remains even after physical death.

~~~~~~~
“To him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.”
1 Timothy 6:16b
Kings and kingdoms rise and fall, but the dominion of the King of kings will remain.
We don’t have room in this post to list all the wonderful things that remain because of our victorious Savior, but I want to zoom in on one thing that can bring beauty from the ashes of those hard things that remain in this life.
“You did not choose Me,
but I chose you and appointed you
that you should go and bear fruit,
and that your fruit should remain…”
John 15:16a (NKJV)
In Christ, the fruit He bears through us is eternal. Talk about purpose! As we abide in Christ, that God glorifying fruit produced will remain forever. Praise Him!
